ELA 7, Part 2

In this second part of the Seventh-Grade English series, students will deepen their understanding of literature and strengthen their communication skills. They will:

  • Identify and interpret key literary themes

  • Analyze poetic structure and technique

  • Compare and contrast literary genres

  • Read and analyze selected works by William Shakespeare

  • Develop and deliver a poetry recitation using effective presentation skills

  • Compose a well-supported, research-based paper

  • Apply reading and writing strategies to a novel study

  • Expand vocabulary through word-mastery strategies

This course emphasizes analytical reading, academic writing, and confident self-expression—preparing students for high school-level English.

Course Objective

The objective of English Language Arts 7 – Part 2 is to guide students in advancing their literary analysis, critical thinking, and written communication skills through exposure to diverse literary forms and purposeful writing tasks. Students will explore thematic elements in literature, interpret poetic structure and meaning, analyze Shakespearean drama, and compare genres to deepen comprehension.
